Opened in 2006, Smiths Hotel is part of Gretna Green Ltd, an independent family business that also includes one of Scotland’s premier visitor attractions, the Famous Blacksmiths Shop and Visitor Centre in Gretna Green.
THE BLACKSMITHS SHOP IN GRETNA GREEN
The Blacksmiths Shop, famous since 1754 for its romantic history of runaway weddings is, to this day, an important wedding venue and is where many hundreds of weddings are conducted each year.
Smiths Hotel at Gretna Green is the brainchild of our chairman, Alasdair Houston, whose family has been based at Gretna Green since 1886. Smiths hotel is distinctly different to any other hotel within over an hour’s driving distance and offers modern, stylish accommodation.
